 Another day of sunshine.

Baker’s Brook Falls, Gros Morne Park

June 8 - Rocky Harbour

Today was a much needed and much wanted hiking day.  All tolled we did 13.55 kms to Baker’s Brook Falls and the Little Pond Loop trail.

The forecast was for 13 degrees.  When we got back to the truck it was 19 degrees.  Luckily they call lakes ponds and rivers brooks.  The ‘brook’ was running fast and furious with no place to

Hiking into the falls.

enjoy sitting on the bank.  Nor could Morgan go for a swim.

The falls were magnificent.  With all the falls I have seen it takes a lot to impress me and I was impressed.

The Pond Loop, luckily was a lake loop and we found a place for Morgan to

have a swim.  She immediately got her energy and tried to zoomie on the leash.

Needless to say we were pooped and hot when we got back to the truck.  We had lunch packed so we headed to

Lobster Cove to eat and enjoyed cooling off with a slight sea breeze.

Little Pond which is really a lake.  Hahaha

Lunch was actually supper.  This is no surprise for us.  And because we did such a big walk Karen thought we should reward ourselves with homemade ice cream at Aunt Sarah’s place.  Karen had smashed cookies.  I had pineapple orange.  We brought a tub of ‘Haul In The Jib”.  It’s chocolate salted caramel.  I cannot wait until we tuck in to it.

Lobster Cove Lighthouse, Rocky Harbour.

Perhaps tomorrow night.

After dessert we perused a few of the gift shops and art galleries.  I was looking for postcards (Ta Daa!  Success) and Karen is looking for an art piece for her dining room.  We saw some amazing talent but sadly did not make a purchase - except for postcards.

I am sending our sunshine to every one who is missing theirs.  Wishing you warm days and sweet dreams.
